Muse and Mirror

The more time I spend in the natural world, the more I feel inspired to write. It may be the long horizon out over the sea or mountains that gives my mind and spirit space – room to float and expand. I seem to need this to get my creative juices moving.

View From My Window

It is my world, too. This precious blue stone set in a silver sea. This earth, this dear green earth. This blessed speck of the universe. This miracle.

Gathering Stones

There is something comforting about stones and rocks.

Our Indian sisters and brothers believe each stone and rock has a spirit. This is true, I think. When I hold them in my hand, I feel their solidity, but something else passes from them to me.

Drum Dreams

Some of us were born in small towns. Some of us spend our lives there. Others of us move away to other places, and never come home again, except, perhaps, for holidays. Then there are those of us who leave our hometowns—and return. This is one of those stories. It is mine.

In Touch With Nature

Nature is everything not created by humans. It is our context and the world we inhabit, no matter how much we insulate ourselves from it with shoes, walls and windows, asphalt or ear plugs. It is our place, where we start and always come back to.
