Reflections: The Zoom of Time
Dear Forty-Something Year Old Daughter,
I have been weeding out my pack rat memorabilia from everyone. Now instead of one big fish box of them, there are ten big envelopes ready to send to various people or places.
When you were a student twenty years ago, you bought a used electric typewriter at UNC. Then you learned how to use that new word processor at MSU and apologized to me for sending such an impersonal form ofa letter typed on it.
Now you are a geek graduate comfortable with e-mail, Blackberries and laptops.
Zoom!
I have to ask a grandchild to use my cell phone (who me - a cell phone ? ) to take a cell phone picture (cell phones takes photos?) of her and me.
Zoom!
gadgets, gadgets, gadgets,
Zoom!
But the message is always the same:
“Love you.”
